Growing up in a conservative Lancaster County family during the hippie movement, there were significant shifts in American culture that drove lively and animated discussions around my parents' dining room table. How I dressed was a big issue. How could a young teen dress decently and appropriately, yet stay relevant with the quickly changing styles of the sixties?
Creating and sewing my own clothing was my solution. And like a continuous thread throughout my busy life of raising six children, 20 busy grandkiddos, a career in piano teaching and working in public education, sewing was a constant weaver of joy and satisfaction that I have practiced and perfected.
And now I get to share that joy with you!
